The Large Boston Bag
This is a larger than (my) average sized bag [personal picture added for reference]; it's 15" wide, 11.5" tall (without the handles - the handles add an extra 10") and it's about 8" deep. It's *almost* big enough to be an overnight bag if you're a light packer. I extended the handles from the original version to easily carry it on your shoulder. The gusset is lined with black leather to match the interior of the shell, and it has a reinforced, purple base on the inside, with "feet" added to protect the bottom from regular wear and tear.
Needless to say, the art on the front of this bag is what makes it Extra. A traditional tattoo design by Chris Garver was resized specifically to fit the dimensions of this bag. I then transferred it to 8oz veg tan leather, cut the outline, tooled all the edges, dyed most elements, painted the rest with metallic effects, sanded the background, sealed in the colors, antiqued it, then sealed it again. The rest of the pieces on this bag were finished with teal edge paint to enhance the colors in the Extra element.
As always, every piece of this one-of-a-kind bag was cut, edged, decorated, and stitched by hand.
